Weekend Specials Menu and Tuesday Tapping Calendar

We get a lot of requests for more notice on our daily specials and our beer tappings. To be honest, its hard to predict! We get word from our suppliers late night about the freshest and most exciting ingredients and have them delivered early the next morning. Our culinary team under Chef Russel has pulled together a weekend specials menu for the month of July, but you will still see daily lunch and dinner specials that are short notice. Fresh to the minute is how the localvores roll.

Predicting beer tapping dates, how hard can it be? Bill and Charlie know when to order the ingredients for each brew and the brew date. After they do their work, its up to the yeast. How many yeast cells does it take to make a 30-barrel batch of beer? If we pitch 0.75 milliion yeast cells per milliliter per degree Plato of wort that's 31 quintillion yeast cells per 30-barrel batch. The yeasty boys behave differently based on the variety of yeast and what we feed them. Bill and Charlie are realiable, but their wee friends sometimes take longer - you can't rush yeast. We have Strawberry Blonde, Broad Street IPA, Robust Porter and Defender APA in the tanks and a busy brewing schedule planned starting with Orange Whip tomorrow. We have Black IPA, Saison and Oktoberfest on the schedule, with many more to come to meet our GABF competition entry commitments.
